Coffee Shop Food
Luckily this is not my first time posting about lousy food. I had mentioned about Katong Laksa, Yong Tau Fu at Kou Fu, Chicken Rice, and Fried Cockle Kway Teow at my blogs.
So you can see at my blogs, what I really like to eat. After my pregnany and the birth of Isaac, I did not have time to blog about lots of food that I had eaten. Luckily, I had done my regular homework before this… As mentioned last night at my posts, I had not eaten fish balls noodles for a long time. I really feel like eating this fish balls noodles that I had eaten before… but all these fish balls noodles seem to be gone now…
WHY? In Singapore, such a small country, what can we really do? Everywhere we go, what we see are only people, shops, and HDB flats. No matter where you go, you will definitely find food or buy your food. You won’t go hungry (if you have money) no matter where you are. It is such a convenience to buy food in Singapore.
However, in such a time like this, bad economy, people have no jobs, people have no money, and during such a time like this, people wants to earn more money too. Who is not greedy for money? Everybody wants to save, wants to earn more money. What is the result of these? We see people suffering from food poisoning as a result of eating food court food or hawker food.
Do we want to see more innocent lives being claimed (as in the Geylang Serai Rojak Food Stall case, which results in two dead person/women). We also see Prima Deli Cake shop food poisoning case some time ago. These are the times where we must be more alert and steps should be taken to deter such cases from happening again, otherwise more innocent lives would be claimed…
I had been eating hawker food, Coffee shop food, food court food, roadside food, pasar malam food, whichever you call them… the ‘no air-con food’ and so on. Nowadays, the quality of the food is getting worst. Even the chicken rice stall (Beng Kee Hylam Boneless Chicken Rice) which I patronize regularly at Woodlands North Plaza, is now so substandard. Each time I give time ‘chance’ and go back to them to buy chicken rice again, but it was no better… I stopped going to them. I had to look for other shop!!
Everywhere I go, there is not much difference in fact. Something is definitely wrong somewhere. And how can we be the best in everything — world best in everything…?? Are you going to disgrace the image of Singapore? What kind of attitude and service are these shops offering to the tourists and citizens of Singapore?
This photograph shown above is taken at Bukit Batok. A black crow was perching on this tree, crowing. Clara pointed out to me. I did not notice it at first. Richard was walking so fast, so far ahead, and I cannot take out my Casio Camera to capture the bird. I quickly snap with my handphone. This serves as a reminder to me, otherwise I am going to forget so many things that had happened.
Just another few steps from that tree, we saw so many mynas at this spot of field here. They were eating from a packed lunch box (styrofoam box) containing left over rice (a lot)…
