I think the right word is reliable. Dr Eugene Ng said he is a patient guy. He is soft-spoken, and look ‘funny’ and innocent type. Compared him with other gynae, he is okay. Others speak too loudly, look dishonest, look ‘te kor pek’ or ‘chi kor pek’, or either had no good experience, but so far so good for Dr Koh. My first child delivery with him was fine and good. My second time abortion with him also…. And now third time child delivery, hopefully everything will be good also.

I told him that I am considered high-risk category and he said that’s why he is here to help…high-risk also is low-risk… hehe….

Qualification: See all the words…Singapore( 新加坡), United Kingdom (英国) and America (美国)…

Somebody says NUS is nothing!!! And look at here, 新加坡大学 (National University of Singapore). If he is no good, why am I back again and again despite the services of the nurses, and the not so good condition of the toilet? It is the doctor that matters. If I want to go for facial treatment, I do not look at the external decor. What I want is result of my face.

Looking at the business there, I asked Ricsson,”You want to be a doctor?” He said,”No.” Look at his patients, how many women come to his clinic. Every time is full despite the long waiting time!

This is the baby with the obvious heart beat sound, and can see it moving… A jovial guy, Dr Koh said this is 国宝 (guo bao), the nation’s treasure.

In the room, he just have to ask you your last date of menses, and then you tell him what’s wrong with you, and then he would tell you the estimated date of delivery. Next, ultrascan, and then ask him for any questions I have. Just like that… everything in the room do not take more than 15minutes, but waiting is longer than 1.5hours.

Inside the clinic, facing the door, facing the nurses, facing the four walls, you can read old magazines and read all the Thank You cards/letters from patients, and visit the toilet… (pink toilet and not in so good condition)…

These children, from class 2J, my form class, were so bright, so intelligent, so cheerful and lively.

Official School Opening (not so sure… most probably… parents invited…)

My niece and nephew happened to be in the school.

This is a bright student with outstanding results.

It was 9.05am when the teacher called me. I am grateful that the teacher called me. I thanked her… really thanked her for her effort, and later, accepted my ‘request’ and ‘favour’.

Form Teacher
At the beginning of school, January 2008, the class was given a form from their form teacher, and that is how I got to know their form teacher, Mdm Chua. She was a good teacher. Everyday Clara came home, very cheerful, very motivated, telling me stories (what Mdm Chua had told them), asking me questions(to see if I know).

Everything changed when Mdm Chua gave birth to her baby. She had to go on leave to look after her baby. Clara loves the teacher. She even went to her website, sent her message (that was what she told me).

After that, who is the form teacher? One relief teacher after another one. I am also confused. Just yesterday, she told me again about the current form teacher… saying the class is always ‘last’ and the teacher always scolding the class…. Before this teacher, there was another one (relief teacher also)….

What The Teacher Said:
She had given out consent form for Supplementary Classes (long ago she said), and Clara did not sign it. I told her, Clara was absent a few days ago, she was sick. But she said, she had it.

I asked for the date of the supplementary classes. I did not even know any head or tail about it! I asked and jotted down the dates. I asked her for her name. She was reluctant to say her name, but “I am her form teacher.” But later on, she added, Madam Tan.

After saying so much, she was not going to allow Clara to attend the supplementary class. Then she would have missed the lesson! And she had already called me, and I have consented to it! After that, she agreed… and I asked her to help me to ask Clara to call me later.

Look Into It

Richard asked me: What are you doing?
I wrote about Biofocus International, he said I asking for trouble. I wrote about the school, he asked me not to write…..

I told him so many things, he also never listen. Bad things are so easy to do. Bad things are so easy to learn. And children ‘pick’ up the habits and learn everything, good and bad…

My fault…
I did not check her school bag. I did not check her handbook. I expect her to do all by herself, to be responsible. My mother was illiterate. My mother never had to check my bag. But I do everything myself. There were no student handbook also! So what if there is student handbook? When I check, it was blank…. soon, I also learned to leave the kids alone… let them learn themselves. I am so busy, I am thinking of earning money, money is a problem already!

You think I love to live this kind of life? I can look for a job, and not care about the family, have money, have CPF, but the family would even be worst!

Co-operation
Not every child in Singapore is born rich. Not every child can AFFORD to go school and have TUITION after school. Not every child is so fortunate to be borned into rich families or LOVING PARENTS who cared about their children. It JUST happened that I AM the unfortunate ONE that was sent to REPRESENT the illiterate, the unfortunate, the poor.

You cannot expect every parent to Check the work of the children. The parent can only tell the children. I always ask her, tell her, and if she wants to listen (it also depends on the teacher-student relationship)!

It takes two to tango.

Not Happy, Come Talk To Me
If I had written here, and anyone is not happy, come and talk to me. I need your help. I am most welcome to sit down with the teachers and the principal, if only you want to help. I am only a mother, a wife and I have to do so many things! Come lor, Come and talk to me, call me if you want. This is the kind of students-turned-parents that Ministry of Education had ‘nurtured’. If only you want to ‘entertain me’!!!

And How Do I tell YOU to look into it?

The Restaurant served authentic Si Chuan Food and it has such a beautiful and comfortable ambience for fine dining. Not only is their food nice, the most amazing thing was the tea-pouring as shown below.

This is the first time I see such kind of unique style of tea-pouring, and it is really an eyeopener.

Great Restaurant
I had visited a few Si Chuan Restaurant in Singapore. This is the best, in terms of ambience and food. A great dining experience, would love to go again and never regret going.

Went to this place, FMM, on 19th June 2008. It was the children’s camp. This was also the place where I used to have my camp….

On that night, we went to the camp to listen to Father Terence talked about the Eucharist. After that, we walked along the pavement, to Gleneagles Hospital and then to Orchard Road…

Richard spotted a snake on the floor. He was scared. I was walking behind him, with Ricsson. I saw him standing still and asked, and he pointed on the floor, a brown snake — the night was dark and the street lamps were not bright either. It was ‘orange’ light, and the snake appeared brown…

I wanted to take a picture of it, but after I stared at it, and it seemed to have ‘looked at me’, it U-turned and went back into the shrubs. No time to take picture. To ‘recall’ the location of the snake, I took a picture of the ‘landmark’ and this is the picture above… forget the name of the building.

At FMM, I saw this statue of Mary and opposite it was a girl kneeling down as shown below. I had never seen this the first time I went there in 1985.

Another time I had seen another snake was at Woodlands, that was again another snake seen by Richard, but it was a green snake. Again, when I looked at it, and it looked at me, it U-turned and went back to the tree. This green snake just dropped down suddenly, IN FRONT of Richard!

Komodo Dragon

On 7th September 2008, this four-legged snake, which I did not see, but later, Richard told me about it. By the time I had seen it, it had already crawled up. Where it came from I also did not know.

The chinese man who said he frequent this place, to feed the monkey, told me about the snake, he told me the name of the snake in chinese, something ‘xi’ but I forgot the name of it already. At that day, when I saw the snake, I thought of the days in Boon Lay….. My father often saw ‘Four-legged snake’, sometimes he need to stop his car to let the snake crossed the road. There were a few times he brought the snake home…. We ate them….

The Bronze Serpent (Numbers 21: 4-9)

International! What a TITLE! Tell me, what is the meaning of INTERNATIONAL? Look at Prudential. If I am a customer of Prudential, and I am going to write about services of PRUDENTIAL like I did for Biofocus, ARE THEY going to SUE ME?

If I am scared of BIOFOCUS INTERNATIONAL, all the THREATS they imposed written and verbal, AM I FIT TO BE CALLED a STUDENT OF National University of Singapore? I would do the Country a DISGRACE. No Money, Want to die also DIE HONOURABLY. SO yes, I learned. I learned what is called HONOUR. I honoured JESUS, and I build up my FAITH. How Much Is YOUR CAPABILITY
On my birthday, on the way to National Dental Centre at Outram Park, we met a Richard’s friend and also was my ‘insurance adviser’, at that time, called insurance agent. Yes, at that point, that would be a more appropriate word for her, but not ‘insurance adviser’. She is still my friend, and I never say anything about her service though I ‘knew’ it myself after my own experience being an insurance adviser with Prudential. And I MUST SAY, PRUDENTIAL is the best insurance company. I LEARNED so much from PRUDENTIAL, A LOT (I have no time to write on that yet, BUT WILL). I am very grateful to PRUDENTIAL and the people I came across.

MY EDUCATION, MY QUALIFICATION

Never had I a chance to show, never had I a feeling of ‘dignity’ and ‘PRIDE’ in my studies. Never had I a chance to ‘Show off’ my knowledge, never had I a chance to repay all the kindness to my parents, brothers and family, and my mentors, but now is my time…

All these were kept in my home cupboard, no place to hang them, not even ‘of any meaning’ to hang them at home…..

My NAME
But it is GOD that ‘raised me’. It is Jesus who saved me. I know the meaning of my name, at last, and it is a name full of meaning… A name given by my parents and priests. All thanks to Father.

From General Office, I walked out of the school, feeling ‘angry’ and ‘disappointed’. The ‘red man’, Mr Tan, stood at the ‘narrow canal‘, STILL MONITORING ME, EYES FIXED ON ME, hand folded like ‘Sir Stamford Raffles’…. Can you imagine, what sort of MAJOR CRIME had I committed? It was raining heavily still. I signed out at the security guard’s office. The security guard were friendly. I asked them about bus-stop, and they chatted with me. I told them,”Hey, don’t talk to me too much, later your manager not happy!” I asked them,”How he treat you all?” I spoke PURPOSELY loud, but I wondered if HE had heard me!!! He ought to be ashamed of himself.

Ministry of EDUCATION
Now, Issue closed. I would be back. I would ‘THINK’ of a way to go back, by hook or by crook. We shall see the EDUCATION STANDARD OF SINGAPORE.

THE VERY IMPORTANT PERSON IN SCHOOL
At the general office, I saw a poster which was so interesting, and I took a picture of it (the one shown above… Photography is my hobby, I took a picture of the poster, ALSO CANNOT. Mr Tan, the name, I ASKED (and got to know HIS NAME from another person, But not from MR TAN’s MOUTH), from another person in the general office.

POLICE IS SO GREAT, POLICE CAN HELP CITIZENS IN ALL WAYS
Just as I had finished taking this poster, Mr Tan said,”Hey, enough hor, don’t make things difficult for me hor Miss, I call the police har!” This may not be the exact words, but the main words are there. So I asked for the Principal, and Principal not around. I asked for the next most important person, the Vice-Principal and also not around. Next, I asked who is the next important person I can talk to. It was the Admin Manager, a lady.

Respect Others, Respect Yourselves
While waiting for the Admin Manager to be called and come to the reception, I saw a poster on 88 Ways to Praise a Child. It was near the photocopier. I wanted to read. I wanted to take a picture of it. But The EYES were FIXED ON ME. THE person named MR TAN, the operation manager, FIXED HIS EYES ON ME (I was a criminal), and I also ‘very scared’, ‘don’t want to make things difficult for people’…. I kept my camera in the bag……

Woman With Woman, There is NO END……
The lady, Admin Manager came out. She cannot make decision. Tour the school? Need to get PERMISSION from the principal…. Both principals on leave…. I asked the admin manager for her name, she told me… How can I make appointment with the Principal? Asked for a name card, and was given this:

Do you know what is SCREENING? Even with this NAME CARD, you would not get to speak directly to the PRINCIPAL.

Professionalism: What is being PROFESSIONAL?
NO NAME on the NAME CARD?? This is HILARIOUS.

BIG NAMES
A school that has no principals during holidays. A school that is AFRAID to tell people of their NAMES.

MIND YOU
I have to ASK for the name of the Principal, Vice-Principal and this Admin Manager’s name, and I have to write them down….. JUST IN CASE, I need them… This is Singapore, typical SINGAPORE’s POLICY…

My Position: Parent, to look around the school, to obtain information about School Transfer for my child.

I asked for the form, and was given the above form. Another Clerk handed this form to me. Before that, she asked,”Your child is in this school?” and she asked which level was my child….

HOW BIG IS YOUR NAME?

10 Great Ways To Treat Others
1. Use Kind words. Am I a not kind person? Look at my products, my children, my blogs, my words. But there are the time when ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, LIMIT IS LIMIT.

2. Help when You can. Who can HELP ME? When I have problems, who helped me???? Listen to my story, I would not say anything that is without any basis.

3. Share and Take Turns. It’s holiday time. The school has little students, and the Operation Manager so busy?? No time to CHAT even to Visitors??? No time to make FRIENDS with visitors??? I am a woman, not a MAN WITH CRIMINAL LOOK some more…. a woman, wearing visitor pass, hanging on the neck, with my particulars all given at the security guard… I tell you, the security guard got BETTER manner than this Operation Manager!

4. Listen to what others have so say. Obviously I was not given a chance to say anything….

5. Be honest and truthful. If I am truthful, as what I experienced, I told the Boon Lay Secondary School’s security guard that I wanted to go inside the school, to look around and to take picture. The answer is “NO.” Again,”Need to ask the Principal.” I asked,”How can I talk to principal, I want to talk to the principal then.” What you think?

You think I get a CHANCE to talk to PRINCIPAL? WAIT LONG LONG.

6. Think before you speak or act.

7. Remember your manners.

8. Hold your temper.

9. Think about the feelings of others.

10. Work and play fairly.

CAMPAIGN For Who
The Operation Manager, once a student. Which school, I don’t know. The Operation Manager, when saw me, never smile, NEVER GREET, BUT, “WHAT YOU DOING HERE?” Next, “YOU CANNOT ANYHOW TAKE PICTURE!!!!” “YOU NEED TO ASK FOR PERMISSION FROM THE GENERAL OFFICE!”

Where Is Your PRIDE
FINE. I asked him,”Who are you? Are you a teacher here?” I looked at his name tag, hang on his neck, BUT FLIPPED OVER, concealing or Hiding HIS NAME — So what for wear a name tag? I am not so rude as to tell him this. I do not even know he is the operation manager. I do not even know where is the General Office.

不分青 红皂白 (never find out the truth)
This operation manager did not even ask my purpose of coming to the school, HE DID NOT EVEN FIND OUT WHO AM I! RUDE, is this not called rude or RESPECT for even visitors!!! I had granted permission to enter the school! My purpose is to tour the school — the garden I want to see, the building I want to admire. Is this too much to ask? You think I would want to go to a school which I have no concern with like Bedok Primary School or Tampines Primary School if there is such school (and it is not of my concern to go there too!)

I asked him,”How can I get permission then?” He said,”Principal.” So I said,”I want to see the Principal.” The answer: The Principal not around. Then who can I ask for permission then? “Vice-Principal.” Then where is the Vice-Principal? On leave was the answer.

As I was asking him, several times about his name, and if he is a teacher, he DID NOT tell me his position and his name.

Just before reaching the General Office, I saw this interesting words: The Desired Outcome of Education. I was so INTERESTED to read, BUT NO TIME, PEOPLE waiting to ‘FORCED ME OUT’.

I took a picture of this, He said,”HEY, I TELL YOU HOR, DON’T TAKE ANY MORE, PLEASE OBEY HOR.”

I got no name, he got no name….

I got no time to look around the external of the General Office! What a waste, really never see anything, but only being ‘lead’ INTO the general office….
