When we heard about HDB Corridors, the first thing or image that comes to our mind is a long passageway where people can walk pass some rows of houses within a block of flat. Living in HDB flat, there are no such things as no corridor. Everybody would have a corridor or 5-foot way outside their home, but the width and size of the corridor differs. Some have big rectangular or squarish spacious area while others have L-shaped or just a longitudinal corridor outside their home.
When buying houses, this is the first factor that I consider. Do I want to buy Corridor houses or do I want to buy corner houses? I do not like to buy houses with windows along the corridor. There is no much privacy as well as security issues involved.
At the ‘cover-post’ image, you can see a photograph of a flat. I had captured the external view of the corridor from outside the flat (at the basement facing the block of flat). That is a typical example of how a corridor would look like externally, and how people might make use of the corridor at their house level.
In my post here, I am showing you corridor that is at ground level — the place, the floor, the ground that I would be walking at my neighbourhood. They are such common areas that we need to bypass in order to reach the various vicinities that is around the neighbourhood like Woodlands North Plaza, Woodlands 888 Plaza, Eating House, Hair Salon and so on.
This post is specifically about these HDB Corridors, which is mainly the corridors of these special and unique 4-storey high Woodlands Executive Maisonette (some are Executive Apartments). During rainy day, these corridors or 5-foot way are the places that we need to bypass in order to reach our home.
In the photograph above, you can see some people using the corridors to bypass the flats. They can be maids, housewives, workers or just any people or parents who need to go to the near by amenities.
