Sakae Sushi Story
Every business, just like anybody else (afterall, businesses are all run by people), has a story to tell… their story of success. Living in Woodlands for so long, since the ‘birth of Causeway Point’, I had seen a few businesses ‘come and go’ at this place on the seventh floor of Causeway Point Shopping Centre. This is the place just opposite the Halal Food Court, Banquet, and is the current location of Sakae Sushi. The previous business before Sakae Sushi was a Malay Food Restaurant, which I had never stepped into it before.
Today, six days after I had stepped into the restaurant since the first day of September (Teacher’s Day), our family had decided to go to the restaurant again — for my birthday ‘celebration’. This is actually not a celebration, but a nice word to put it… since we had $20 vouchers to spend also. The other thing and the most important reason is still because I wanted to eat the steamed egg.
Today, we reached the restaurant at about 7pm. The other time, on the 1st September, we had lunch. We had to wait to be sitted. The restaurant was quite full. We stood at the entrance for some time before we were being noticed, and later to be served…
Pushing a pram, trying to get into the restaurant is also a problem to be considered… the same issue everytime we went there. Today, as the other tables at the front aisle are occupied, we had to occupy the last and narrow difficult passageway at the corner of the restaurant (the last aisle). I inspected the place before I agreed to settle there. It was quite okay, spacious still, just that at the corner the place was very small — and the pram need to be kept first before it can pass over the place.
This is the first time we had dinner at Sakae Sushi. The restaurant was almost fully seated by the time we left the restaurant. Outside the restaurant, so many people are waiting to be seated.
Today, our dining was not as pleasant as before. This could be due to the crowds, but the people (waiters and managers, that is, the people working there) played a part as well… it is their team effort…
I do not like to elaborate about unpleasant experiences, but it is a truth about my experiences at the restaurant. I will elaborate when I have time later. But overall, I was ‘compensated’ BY MYSELF when I had explored the restaurant, unveiling the answer to the question that is always hidden in my mind — what is above the restaurant?
Paying for bills was another problem since we had unpleasant experiences earlier on already. Richard was very angry. I had always been ‘solving problems’ for him, but I purposely let him ‘taste’ how it feels like to be ‘on the go’….. As for me, I am not angry anymore, but ‘discovering’ what is going on around me….
Today I had read about the brief history of the restaurant in their Menu. I had learned from the menu that there are 39 branches of Sakae Sushi in Singapore! This is the most branches in the world which they had covered — Malaysia, China, Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia.
Today, from the menu, I discovered that they had a website. Their official Singapore Website is http://sakaesushi.com.sg/ From their website, I also know that they had membership and well as competition for bloggers! These are information that are not conveyed….
Now, as I am typing this post, it is my birthday already, and the time is 1am. Clara said, “Sakae Sushi was established in Singapore in September 1997, the month of your birthday!” So ‘coincidentally’ I dreamed of the Japanese woman and also the white flower opened in the morning… as I wrote the post about the numbers…..
