SilverStar Taxi

On this lucky (‘blessing in disguise‘) Palm Sunday, Richard and I got a chance to take this luxurious Limousine Taxi home. It was the first time I had ever seen this new taxi, Silverstar – Mercedes Benz . It is so nice, so beautiful.

Nowadays Silvercab is no longer good. There are so many old taxi (Silvercab) being used now. Comfort is even better than these old Silvercab Taxi.

First Experience of SilverStar
Inside the taxi, SilverStar – Mercedes Benz, we actually did not know whether to speak to the driver in Mandarin or English. He looked dark and I wondered if he was Chinese or Malay. After asking him, we knew that he was Chinese. His service was okay — asked him anything and he would answer you. The journey was considered a pleasant one, and I would say it was Good, as compared to most Taxi drivers.

However, it was not the best yet. The external and interior of the car was good. They looked clean. But unlike all the previous Taxis (Premier Taxis) that I had taken, this one got some smell in it. If there were no smell at all, the journey would be a perfect one.

The Smell
In Singapore Taxi, most drivers put Pandan leaves in their car to get rid of cockroaches. This is especially so for most old Taxis. Different taxis got different smell. Some have strong perfume smell while some have strong cigarette smell (as the driver smokes). Some have all sort of ‘combination smell’– Pandan leaves, Perfume and smoke. This is the most terrible ones.

The best Taxi is those with no perfume, with no Pandan leaves and the driver don’t smoke. I had taken taxi (Premier Taxi — Silvercab) like that. That was last year; but now, Silvercab is no longer comfort (since they include old models cab now and the supply is much more — but ‘no quality’).

Taxi Fare is something which is very confusing. I decided to take a snap of these so that I can know how the taxi fare is being charged.
