St Joseph Church

The Great St Joseph Feast Day Celebration 2010 falls on Sunday, 2 May 2010 this year. The celebration starts at 7am and ends at 2pm. On this date, it was Cebest’s birthday as well…

The last time I went to St Joseph Church was 6th May 2008. On that day, I was searching up and low for my Rolex watch before going out of the house. No matter how hard I tried, I could not find my watch. We had to leave the house without my Rolex watch…

I had written at PeaceBella.Com that I am an authentic Roman Catholic… When I was young, I only can remember my family going to this church for its fun fair (St Joseph Feast Day Celebration) and to ‘diam zek’ (teochew: light candles) — as in All Souls’ Day. I love to walk behind the church, the graveyard where all the dead bodies were being laid. It is so serene now that I think of it. I would not know that that was the feeling of Peace or serenity in those days. But I can still remember the experience of walking in the graveyard now. The feeling was so good.

The remains of my grandmother and uncle were now being transferred to the Chapel of Resurrection. I had not ‘light any candles’ for any of my dead grandparents for many many years.

St Joseph, Protector of the Church

This is the familiar statue of St Joseph. It looked new to me in the year 2008 when I went there as the paint was new. I do not know if they had repaint it again a not. I would like to go back there to see the church, but I have no time — have to wait for another opportune time.
