Student Concern
Which school to go? My stand is still the same and I must admit that this is really all fate… really FATE. This is my destiny…
During my pregnancy, I dreamed of QiHua Primary School. I dreamed of walking inside the school… cannot remember the full details now. It was such a great dream, but it involves ‘moving around’… Anyway, that is not important for now. What’s more important is the safety of the students.
Late Dismissal Again?
I am really worried, and have no peace of mind… Yesterday was the start of Oral Examination for the Primary Five pupils. I waited downstairs for my daughter to come home, but waited in vain. There were no sight of her or any of her classmates (even when all normal 2 gates were closed). Isaac needed to eat his lunch and I brought him back first. Asked Richard to call the school, and he is always as usual (cannot be bothered…) — I have to attend to so many things and all coming at the same time!
How Helpful Are You = How Caring Are You
I do not know who is the person answering the phone call. This person only said,”QiHua Primary School” and no name was mentioned. At the end of the call, I had to ask for who was on the line… I asked this person, by the name of Alishah, whether the class xx was released already a not. She answered,”It’s already past one. All classes are released.” Very fast answer. The time where I called was about 1.20pm. Fine. Then I asked,”Is there any changes to the oral examination time-table?” I was scared that maybe there was last minute changes or something like that which I was not informed. She said,”No, don’t have. Oral examinations already started.” I asked to speak to the form teacher (I specified the name of the teacher), and she put me on the hold for a while. Then she said,”The teacher already goes to the hall.”
I told her that my child had not come out of the school at all right from the start of the call. And that is the reason why I called. How often do I call? Not the first time, second time or third time. I had even seen how the staff handle such a case like this before when similar things like this happen some years ago when I have no Isaac yet.
Poor Communication
I must say, the COMMUNICATION within the school is so lousy or poor! Can you imagine, inside the school communication is so poor, HOW SAFE can your children be? Again, I said this is not the first time that such things happened, and I do not want to wait until one day something really happen to regret later. If such things can happen to my daughter, it means that it can happen to any other people in the school.
Knowledge of the staff
I told Alishah, “Her oral examination starts at 3pm. She would come home first normally. But she is still not home yet!” Alishah said,”If her register number is 1 to 15 (or something like that — she specified register number, the front numbers), then she would start first….” I shut my ears. She knows about how the exam time-tables are planned a not in the first place? They are divided into two time slots according to classes if there are no changes (as far as I am being informed according to the examination time-table that I was given). Again, this is not the first time I had spoken to the General Office Staff. Knowing that I would be wasting my time, I know that I would be going ‘NOWHERE’. I ACCEPT her answer. OK. OK OK. Singapore everything is OK…. It’s my ‘fault’. I did not know the time-table perhaps!!!!
The Value of A LIFE
Have you been a parent before? Do you know how long it takes for me to raise a child? Do you know how much it takes for me to have a child? Do you know how much pain I have to undergo for having such a child? Do I just give birth to her and don’t care about her well-being just like some other parents? Whatever grades my children are obtaining, whatever their intelligence, they are always my treasure, my precious children. Tell me, which child is not precious in their parent’s eyes?

Nope, LIFE is just so precious. It’s no money can be bought. Once gone, we are not going to find another one back. It is better to be safe than to be sorry. I would not want any mishap to happen to anybody. Every child is a such a beauty, a wonderful creation of God. They are so innocent…
