Woodlands North Plaza

Woodlands North Plaza is located at Block 883 Woodlands Street 82. This place is near my home and this is the place where we often buy back packed lunch or dinner. We also went there to buy groceries. It has been here in Woodlands ever since I moved here in Woodlands in 1996.

In the past, there was MacDonald at second floor. But a few years ago, it was closed down. How my children and I missed MacDonald. We used to have our Happy Meals there — lunch/dinner and even supper. Those were happy memories. Nowadays, we had to walk to Causeway Point or even Woodlands Civic Centre to have a MacDonald meals. This is rather far and inconvenient and we had not gone MacDonald as often as we used to be now.

Woodlands North Plaza has a total retail space of over 3,600 square metres. This centre has a supermarket (Shop N Save), a wet market, 3 clinics, 2 hair salons, a launderette and many more shops — Medical Hall, Optical Shop, 7 Eleven, Stationery Shop, Cake Shop, etc.

I do not patronize all the shops here at Woodlands North Plaza. Some of the shops sell expensive goods (which I can get them at a cheaper rates elsewhere). Over the years, I had seen shops closing down and new shop owners coming in…

The above shows the wet market that is near to my home. The place where I can easily get fresh fruits such as water-melon, papayas and durians. Over the years, several fruits sellers were gone and new ones came. The latest one was here probably for a few years. But their fruits are not the cheapest (since they are the only fruit stall there). I can get cheaper fruits at Pasar Malam fruit stall — durian for example!
